300LPH Iron Removal Filter - Automatic Chlorinated
Our system uses a revolutionary catalytic media from Australia called DMI-65. The media promotes the oxidation of iron (and other metals) which then precipitate into the filter bed. The particles are then backwashed from the media bed in the same way as you would backwash a swimming pool filter. Other metals removed under certain conditions include manganese, arsenic, chromium, lead and mercury. Hydrogen sulphide (rotten egg smell) is also effectively removed.
Calcium hypochlorite is used as the oxidant and disinfectant and is supplied separately. A residual chlorine concentration also serves to protect your system downstream from bacterial growth.
Ideally the system should be installed in line with your wellpoint/borehole pump feeding a holding tank. The flow rate is throttled to 300LPH for optimum iron removal. The ideal backwash rate is 1000-1500LPH.
A 220V power supply is required.
